Sindhutai sapkal
-The mother of thousands of orphans. She was born in a small village of Pimpri. She had to face lots of problems due to her being a girl. She has won many prestigious awards nationally and internationally.
She was born and reared in a poor family, She was sent to school by her father who supported her, but at a very young of 10, she was married to a man 30yrs older to her. Her sufferings did not end there, she became a mother of 3 children by the age of 20. She used to always raise her voice against injustice but in return, she was thrown out of her house by her husband. She was pregnant at that time, she gave birth to a girl. She used to beg  in and around the railway stations, whatever she received, she used to share it with other orphan children whom she found in the railway station. Thus her journey for caring for orphans started. She put her daughter in an orphan institution so that the other children do not feel left out. Slowly she started taking care of many children, educating them, marrying them, and from these children today many of them are holding prestigious posts in the society like doctors, engineers, IAS officers etc. She has been bestowed with 273 awards in total for her social work. She is a humble person, always says that she has not done anything great, she just became a mother for all the orphans, she believes that you should never do social work for other's sake, but, do it selflessly, without any motive behind it. She donates all the money which she receives to her orphanages. A movie was made on her biography, and it received an award in London. She is known today as the MOTHER OF ALL ORPHANS  in Maharashtra

Happy mothers day to all the mothers in the world!
